Hey marie, hang in there. Apostasy sometimes has a price to pay, but remember - none of it is divine retribution, it is just from our superstitious society who fears nonbelief.

HelsSailing, what's the price to pay for believing in something that doesn't exist? War, hatred, violence and plenty of the same type of great things we have in our lives...
I don't know you, but I came across your page and I just wanted to know...if you don't believe than what's wrong with saying that you don't believe? To your family. Shouldn't they love you regardless, since the Bible says love your neighbor as you love yourself...and no one is perfect.
How can you hate a God that doesn't exist? I don't believe you are truly an atheist. I think you've been deeply hurt and you are very mad at a God that, you know in your heart, exists. A true atheist should feel happy and unhindered because nothing really matters. You are burdened and angry. That comes from pain and/or guilt. I hope you find some peace. It can't be easy living this way.
